The Moocall HEAT system is suitable for both indoor and outdoor breeding.
However, indoor use depends heavily on shed layout, space, and herd management, so certain conditions must be met to ensure good performance.
Space Requirements
As a general rule: minimum 5 mΒ² per cow
Overstocked sheds will reduce accuracy
If unsure, we recommend sending photos of your shed layout to Moocall for review before use.
Housing Type
Cubicle housing β usually suitable (depending on numbers)
Example:
Slatted houses β generally not suitable due to layout and restricted behaviour
Example:
Feeding Areas & False Activity
If using sheds with:
Wide slats
Feed barriers
You should:
Use an exclusion zone during feeding times
Move the bull away temporarily if needed
This helps prevent false activity readings.
Behaviour & Accuracy Indoors
The system relies partly on:
Time spent with the bull
Mounting activity
In indoor environments:
Cows are often constantly near the bull
Mounting activity may be reduced, especially on slats
This can affect detection accuracy.
Important
Because of variations in shed design and herd density, please contact us for review before use.
