Moocall HEAT will notify you at the onset of heat, meaning you receive an alert when the heat period begins.

What Should I Do After Receiving an Alert?

Once you receive a heat alert, we recommend following the:

AM–PM Rule

  • If a cow is detected in heat in the morning (AM) → inseminate in the evening (PM)

  • If detected in the evening (PM) → inseminate the next morning (AM)

Alternatively, you can inseminate 12–16 hours after receiving the alert.

Why This Timing Works

  • Ovulation typically occurs 24–32 hours after the start of heat

  • Inseminating earlier allows sperm to be present before ovulation

This increases the chances of a successful pregnancy.
