My App Is Not Alerting Me

Troubleshooting missing notifications or no sound in the Moocall app

If your Moocall app is not alerting you correctly, there are two possible issues:

  1. You are not receiving app notifications at all

  2. You are receiving notifications, but there is no sound

Follow the steps below depending on your issue.


Issue 1: Not Receiving App Notifications

If you are not receiving any app alerts, check the following:

  • You are logged into the app

  • Your phone has WiFi or mobile data

  • Your phone is not on Airplane mode

  • Notifications are enabled in your phone settings

  • Notifications are enabled in the Moocall app

  • Your device service is active (not expired or suspended)


Issue 2: Receiving Notifications but No Sound

If you see notifications but don’t hear them, follow these steps:


iPhone Users

1. Check Silent Mode

Your phone must not be on silent mode.

  • On newer iPhones:
    Go to Settings → Sounds & Haptics → Silent Mode OFF

  • On older models:
    Use the side switch and make sure silent mode is OFF

If your phone is on silent mode, you may still receive SMS alerts, but no app sound will play.

2. Check App Notifications

  1. Go to Settings → Moocall → Notifications

  2. Ensure:

    • Allow Notifications is ON

    • Sounds are enabled

    • Alerts (Lock Screen / Banners) are selected

3. Check Sound & Volume Settings

  1. Go to Settings → Sounds & Haptics

  2. Make sure:

    • Volume is turned up (Ringtone slider)

    • Haptics = Always Play


Android Users

1. Reinstall the App

  1. Uninstall the Moocall app

  2. Reinstall it from the Google Play Store

  3. Log in with your username and password

  4. Allow all permissions and notifications

2. Check Notification Sound in App

  • Open the Moocall app and go to settings

  • Make sure the notification sound is on

3. Disable Battery Optimisation

  1. Go to Settings → Battery

  2. Go to Battery Optimisation / Launcher

  3. Select the Moocall app

  4. Set to:

    • Manage Manually, or

    • Don’t Optimise

  5. Tap Save / OK

4. Check App Permissions

  1. Go to Settings → Apps → Moocall

  2. Ensure:

    • All permissions are allowed

    • Notifications are ON

    • Background activity is allowed

5. Check Phone Sound

  • Make sure notification volume is turned up

  • Ensure the phone is not on silent or Do Not Disturb


Test Your Alerts (iPhone & Android)

To confirm everything is working correctly on your device:

  • Perform an SMS test by pressing the sensor button twice quickly until the light is flashing green

  • Check that your phone:

    • Receives the alert

    • Plays the notification sound

Important

SMS alerts and app notifications work independently, so it is possible to receive texts but not app alerts.

Issues with app notifications or sound do not mean that your device is not working.
If you are still receiving SMS alerts, your sensor is functioning correctly.
