Your Moocall sensor uses LED lights to show its current status.
Understanding these lights can help you quickly identify what the sensor is doing.
Below is a guide to the most common LED colours and what they mean.
Flashing Blue Light
A flashing blue light means the sensor is powered on and connected to the network. This indicates the device is active and communicating normally.
Flashing Orange Light
A flashing orange light indicates that the battery is low.
What to do
Remove the sensor from the cow.
Charge the device.
Once charging is complete, reattach the sensor.
Continuous Green Light
A solid green light means the battery is fully charged.
The sensor is ready to be used.
Flashing Green Light
A flashing green light indicates that a sms test is in progress.
You can trigger a test when the sensor is flashing blue:
Press the button firmly for half a second.
Release it.
Press the button again immediately.
If successful, the sensor will start flashing green and you should receive:
An SMS alert
An email notification
A Moocall app notification
If you do not receive a message within 10 minutes, please contact Moocall support.
Continuous Red Light
A solid red light means calving is currently in progress.
You should check the cow as soon as possible.
Flashing Red and Blue Light
A flashing red and blue light indicates that the sensor is installing a software update.
These updates are occasionally sent to ensure your device has the latest improvements and features.
The update should complete automatically.
Flashing All Colours
If the sensor flashes multiple colours, it means the device is connecting to the network.
This occurs every time the sensor is turned on.
After a short time the light should settle to flashing blue. If the sensor continues flashing all colours and does not switch to blue after 10 minutes, please contact Moocall support.
How Do I Know My Sensor Is Connected?
When you turn on your Moocall sensor, the light will first cycle through several colours (red, orange, green and blue) while the device connects to the mobile network.
Once the connection is established, the light will change to a flashing blue light every 5β6 seconds.
β οΈ Important
Do not place the sensor on the cow unless it is flashing blue.
If the sensor is still flashing multiple colours, it means the device is still trying to connect to the network and is not yet ready to operate.
If a sensor is placed on the cow while it is not flashing blue, it will not function correctly and will not send calving alerts.
If you notice that a sensor on the cow is flashing multiple colours, it means the device has lost its connection to the network and will not be able to send alerts until the connection is restored.
